Jones to Dodgers

You can strike Andruw Jones off the list of free-agents. The former Atlanta Brave and 10-time Gold Glove winner will reportedly sign a $36.2 million/2-year deal to patrol centerfield for the Dodgers.

$18 million/year for Andruw Jones seems a little steep to me. But I guess the Dodgers are desperate to put themselves back on the baseball map, especially given the success the Angels have had in recent years. The Dodgers have sort of become the L.A. version of the Mets - the weak-sister franchise in a two-team town. But now they've got Joe Torre, so that makes them more Yankee-like. I'm trying to spin things in a positive way for the Dodgers.
