Seahawks Dump Skins

How often do you say of a 35-14 game, "The losing team should've won it?" Not very. But, in this case it's true - the Redskins had this game in their hands and they didn't take it.

The Seahawks outplayed the Skins for the first three quarters. Seattle's pass rush was all over Todd Collins, and despite their being unable to mount any kind of running game (again), the Seahawks' offense did just enough. They had a 13-0 lead going into the fourth; then the Skins' offense got on-track. Two quick scores later it was 14-13 Redskins. Then what should've been the pivotal play: Nate Burleson suffered some kind of gigantic brain-fart on a kick-off, allowing the ball to bounce past him and the Redskins to recover. The Skins score a TD here and the game is in their hands. Even a field goal puts them in pretty good shape. But what do they get? Nada. Not even the 3-pointer, which was missed wide-left by Shaun Suisham. Washington seemed to lose all their energy after that, and Seattle pressed the gas and cruised to the 21-point win.

A Painful Moment

Fred Smoot left quite an impression on Matt Hasselbeck when he tackled the QB by thrusting his helmet straight into his groin. Matt was fine afterward, though his new soprano made it hard for his teammates to hear the signals.

Dan, you've gotta be kiddin... (Below threshold)

Dan, you've gotta be kidding me. Were you watching the same game as the rest of America.

For the very same reason the Redskins had no business being in the game is the very same reason they were throttled in the 4th quarter: The Hawks D.

Collins threw that game-ending pick to CB Trufant off his back foot because of the Hawks pass rush.

And I hardly call Burleson's "gaff" on the kickoff a brainfart. Being here in Seattle, I can assure you that the wind was whipping HARD during that supposed Burlseson "muff" (check the bounce, my friend...it went AWAY from him); the wind was blowing super HARD from the south (Hawks receiving end) and made the ball die. Burelson had a good line on it, just a funny bounce.

Crappy kick by Suisham...just plain awful. You can't miss those....
